the fact of abuse itself is not as horrifying as people's acceptance of it. it's common practice in here to get rid of dogs, cats or even bigger animals like donkeys this way. in the last article i read about animal abuse it said that when judge asked the man that shot neighbour's cat if he knew it was felony, his lawyer didn't even know that this law existed. situation is even worse than it sounds...
i asked the jerk why didn't he spay her earlier and he said " she wouldn't hunt so well" ...

Hi there. I saw the picture that anamenomena posted of those poor puppies! Heartbreaking! When we adopted our Kari-dog, it was from some folks who were also laughing about taking a litter to the river!?!? Being newlyweds back then & poor as church-mice we could only take one pup. *sniff* Remembering that I tried to do some research about rescues in Greece & yes they seem to be rare but I found one site that has several 'links'. www.greekanimalrescue.com It's based in the UK & 'appears' to work with the local groups running shelters etc & helping to place dogs in homes outside of Greece.Sounds OK,but you never know. An old friend of mine & his wife used to be missionaries in Greece about 30 yrs ago & has always said life for animals there was kind of grim. When he came back to the States,they even brought a cat back with them (Boogie-Bear) Anyway,I digress,If you would take a look at that site & if you think it would help her out at all, please pass it on & tell her that a crazy cat lady in Nebraska is praying for her & the wee ones.
